Based on early tabulation, turnout among Los Angeles County voters was 17.89 percent in the March 5 primary, according to unofficial results from the county registrar.

Out of 5,681,184 registered voters, 1,016,574 cast ballots, according to preliminary data—either by mail, submitting their ballot at a certified drop box, or voting in person at a vote center.

Here are updated results, as of 4:31 p.m. March 6, per registrar officials. March 29 is the last day the election must be certified.

City Council

2nd District

Seven candidates hope to succeed Council President Paul Krekorian, who cannot run because of term limits. The leading fundraisers were former Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian and small businessman Sam Kbushyan.

District 2 includes all or part of North Hollywood, Studio City, Sun Valley, Valley Glen, Valley Village and Van Nuys.

4th District

Incumbent and progressive rising star Nithya Raman faces two challengers from her right: Deputy City Attorney Ethan Weaver and software engineer Levon Baronian.

District 4 includes all or part of Hancock Park, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Miracle Mile, Sherman Oaks, Silverlake, Toluca Lake, Koreatown, and Van Nuys.

6th District

Less than a year ago, Imelda Padilla won a special-election race for the seat after the resignation of Nury Martinez, who faced fierce criticism over a leaked audio tape. Now Ms. Padilla seems to be poised for another four-year term, prevailing over two challengers: real estate broker Ely de la Cruz Ayao and respiratory care practitioner Carmenlina Minasova.

District 6 includes Van Nuys, Arleta, Lake Balboa, Sun Valley, Panorama City, North Hills East, and North Hollywood.

8th District

Incumbent Marqueece Harris-Dawson has two challengers in the South LA district: business owner Jahan Epps and roofer Cliff Smith. Harris-Dawson raised over $230,000 in donations; neither of his opponents raised more than $15,000.

District 8 covers all or part of Baldwin Hills, Chesterfield Square, Crenshaw, Leimert Park, Jefferson Park, West Adams, and other communities of western South Los Angeles.

10th District 

Incumbent Heather Hutt is running to hang onto the seat she was appointed to in September after the conviction of Mark Ridley-Thomas on corruption charges. Her main challengers are Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer and attorney Grace Yoo.

District 10 includes all or parts of Arlington Heights, Koreatown, Mid-City, Olympic Park, Palms, South Robertson, West Adams, West Pico, and Wilshire Center.

12th District

Incumbent John Lee, known as a reliable supporter of business and policing, could be hobbled by Ethics Commission allegations stemming from a 2017 trip to Las Vegas with Councilman Mitchell Englander, who at that time was Mr. Lee’s boss. Mr. Lee has one challenger: nonprofit director Serena Oberstein.

District 12 includes all or part of Chatsworth, Granada Hills, North Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch, Reseda, and West Hills.

14th District

Fighting for his seat is nothing new to incumbent Keven de León, who has survived several recall attempts and calls to resign, even from President Joe Biden. Mr. De León is currently leading with 29 percent of the votes over his main challengers—a couple of Assembly members—Wendy Carrillo and Miguel Santiago.
